Prof. Joseph Lau is the founding President of the Hong Kong Society of Behavioral Health (HKSBH). The HKSBH is one of International Society of Behavioral Medicine (ISBM)'s 26 regional/country member societies coming from 21 countries in five major continents. Its mission statement is “Improvement of population health through interdisciplinary actions”. HKSBH is truly interdisciplinary with 250 members with backgrounds in clinical sciences, public health, allied health, sports science, social sciences, pharmaceutical science, dietary science, and in other sectors such as NGOs. It provides a platform for local and international exchange and collaboration through organization of conferences, training workshops, PhD Thesis Awards, Significant Interest Groups, and other activities.
